Weight Loss
Over a period of one year I succeeded in losing 30lbs. The most significant thing about this achievement is not the weight loss itself but the fact that I have not regained the weight.
My weight history will be familiar to many women. Children to look after, busy lifestyle, gradual weight gain each year until suddenly you realise you are actually fat!!
I tried the usual things, low calorie intake, increased exercise etc but nothing worked until I luckily stumbled across a book on low carbohydrate dieting.
The book is called Neris and India’s Idiot Proof Diet. The writers describe how they each lost 5 stone (70lbs) and how they kept it off. It turned out to be one of the best purchases I ever made. I followed the advice step by step and I have never looked back. What I am talking about here however is a lifestyle choice which maybe not everyone will be prepared to make. At the beginning it is necessary to eliminate potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Most of the friends that I recommended the book to were not willing to do this and so the system did not work for them. I personally feel it is worth the sacrifice so I still highly recommend the book to anyone willing to go that extra mile to feel good about themselves.
Other books that I have found useful are
- The Low Carb Gourmet by Karen Barnaby
- The Low Carb Cookbook by Fran McCullough
